Born in Rome on April 14th 1975, he is currently assistant professor at Dipartimento di Ingegneria Informatica Automatica e Gestionale Antonio Ruberti, University of Rome "La Sapienza" (SSD ING-INF/05). He received his PhD in 2007 with a thesis on "Techniques for Efficient Event Routing".
His research interests are focussed on event-based computing systems, dependability and security of distributed systems and scalability of big data computing systems. Other research areas of his interest include : protection of critical infrastructures against faults and attacks, quality of service for event based communication middleware, connectivity in dynamic systems, reliability of home automation systems, data diffusion in sensor and mobile ad hoc networks.
Leonardo Querzoni contributed with different roles to the activities of the EU projects SM4All, SOFIA and CoMiFin. nd the italian TENACE PRIN project. Currently he is involved as unit leader in the project FilieraSicura supported by CISCO and Leonardo Company.
He partecipates in the organization and program committees of the most prestigious intrnational conferences in the area of distributed systems like ICDCS, DSN, EDCC and DEBS. Moreover, he regularly serves as expert reviewer for top international journals (IEEE TPDS, ACM Surveys, IEEE TDSC, Elsevier JPDC).
