Research Involvements

I have committed myself to the pursuit of excellence in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) research and teaching in the Department of Computer and Systems Engineering of the University of Rome "La Sapienza" (Italy) through, among other things, active involvement in: leading, developing and coordinating a team of HCI researchers; teaching HCI classes and overseeing student projects; proposing and running HCI-related research projects; attending, organizing and reviewing for HCI conferences and workshops; and publishing in books, journals and leading conferences.
Research Interests

Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).
In particular, as HCI relates to areas/aspects such as:
User Interfaces, Usability, Accessibility, Visualization, Visual Information Access, Visual Data Mining, Digital Libraries, and Ubiquitous Computing.

Organizing and Program Committees

Involved in various Program Committees of and reviewing for international conferences and journals. For instance: INTERACT 2005, AVI 2004, VLDB 2004, WWW Journal, WWW 2003, WISE 2003, DEXA 2006.

Part of the Organizing Committee of an e-learning workshop ("e-Learning and Human-Computer Interaction: Exploring Design Synergies for more Effective Learning Experiences") at INTERACT 2005.

Organized a special session on "Rich Interactions with Mobile Devices and Systems" at the International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI International) 2005.

Organizing a special session on "Designing for Mobile Interaction" at the International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI International) 2007.
