The Research Doctorate (PhD program) in “Automatica, Bioengineering and Operations Research” offers an advanced training course in the disciplines ING-INF/04 “Automatica”, ING-INF/06 “Bioengineering” and MAT/09 “Operations Research”, respectively.

The Italian Research Doctorate is the highest academic degree awarded by universities in most fields of study.

The PhD programme is open to applicants who hold an Italian diploma di laurea, laurea specialistica or laurea magistrale or an equivalent second-level degree (generally equivalent to a Master's degree) obtained abroad.

PhD programmes train students to carry out scientific research and improve their research methodologies. A Research Doctorate (dottorato di ricerca) is awarded after 3 years of study and upon the successful completion of assigned research activities.
