Steganography

DIS, Sapienza Università di Roma

Steganography is the art of communicating in a way which hides the very existence of the communication (Markus Kuhn - 1995-07-03).

In other words, the aim of steganography is to realize a communication between a sender A and a receiver B in a way A and B are the only ones aware of a communication between them is going on.

As an example, A can hide a secret message into an image and then send such image to B. Sending an image is a common action, millions of people perform every day over the Internet. Thus, A and B can communicate without arousing suspicion of their message exchange.

ISC is a steganographic I developed for embedding messages into JPEG images. ISC stands for Image based Steganography and Cryptography.

ISC is provided without any warranty about its usability. It is for educational purposes and should be regarded as such.

You can download ISC as a jar file here.
