MattoneI received the Ph.D. in Control Engineering in 1997 from the University of Rome "La Sapienza". In 1997-1998 I was Guest Scientist at Fraunhofer IPA in Stuttgart, Germany, funded by the EU program "Marie Curie Training Grants". In 1998-2000 I was Research Engineer at Ascom AR&T in Maegenwil, Switzerland. In 2000 I joined the Dipartimento di Informatica e Sistemistica (DIS) of the University of Rome "La Sapienza", where I am currently Research Associate at the DIS Robotics Laboratory.
In the area of nonlinear control and robotics, and in particular: modeling and control of robot manipulators, undeactuated manipulators, and general nonlinear systems; hybrid force-velocity control; fault detection and isolation. Current projects includeCyberWalk The CyberCarpet - Enabling Omni-directional Walking in Virtual Worlds (2005-2008)
