Bio Sketch

I currently work as an assistant professor at the University of Rome "La Sapienza". I obtained a PhD in in computer engineering from the same institution with a work on efficient data dissemination through the publish/subscribe communication paradigm.

My research activities are focussed on several computer science fields including

  • dependability and security in distributed systems
  • architectures for the analysis of massive amounts of data
  • recommendation systems
  • publish/subscribe middleware services
  • large scale and dynamic distributed systems
  • wireless and sensor networks

The results of these activities have been published on several papers appeared on renewed international conferences and journals. I also regularly serve in the technical program committees of conferences in the field of dependability, event-based communications and autonomic systems, and collaborate as a reviewer for international conferences and journals in my research areas.

Being part of the MIDLAB research group, I'm involved in the activities of several EU funded projects in the area of home automation (SM4All project), ubiquitous computing and smart spaces (SOFIA project), ICT for energy efficiency (eDIANA project), and collaborative monitoring of financial infrastructures (CoMiFin project).

I'm also part of the Research Center of Cyber Intelligence and Information Security (CIS), a multidisciplinary center developing new knowledge and operational methodologies to gather relevant information from cyber and physical environments and to transform it through intelligence processes in enriched information that can be used to prevent incidents that can harm the society by creating at the same time smarter complex systems.

2008-now - Assistant professor (ricercatore) - Università degli Studi di Roma "La Sapienza"
